Zero to Fifty
Everyone I know has a car story. They usually have something to do with the best and worst of life: trips to emergency rooms, first loves, bad fights, road trips and wrong turns. In our stories we reveal ourselves as, say, the kind of person who would ignore all logic and common sense and buy the vintage Fiat just because we like the person we think we become behind the wheel. That’s the way it went with me anyway. In 2003, Algonquin Press published my love letter to all the vehicles I have been lucky enough to own/drive/fix/curse/hang out in or sometimes just caress.
